turboTEM founder recognised with innovation award
turboTEM Founder and Director Assitant Professor Lewys Jones was recognised tonight as part of the annual Trinity Innovation Awards. Nominated in the ‘Ones to Watch’ category for 2022, he received the award from Provost Linda Doyle (pictured).
The ‘Ones to Watch’ category recognises “up and coming entrepreneurial Academics whose research is most likely to result in the next Campus Company, commercial license deal or industry engagement“.
Prof. Jones was interviewed by Silicon Republic at the event.
Speaking after the awards ceremony, Lewys explained “this award is wonderful, but the credit is shared across all my team who helped make the research possible in the first place“. He adds “next year we hope to be back here again, nominated in a different category, once we’ve completed the formation of our campus company spin-out“.
